Bio
Zelia Carbone is a Sicilian painter and scenographer working between Rome and Dubai.
Her practice weaves Mediterranean heritage, memory, and contemporary vision, transforming cultural roots into a universal visual language.
Trained in Set and Costume Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo, she worked for years in cinema and theatre, collaborating with Italian and international productions. This experience strengthened her sense of colour, composition and visual storytelling, which now defines her pictorial work.
Recognised as an International Artist by the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, she holds accreditation in Creatives in Culture & Arts and has been awarded the Excellence Residency. Her works are part of the permanent collection of the Royal Gallery of Dubai, which has valued her ability to carry Sicilian identity into the cultural context of the UAE.
Carbone is currently active as both painter and curator, developing artistic dialogues between the Mediterranean and the Gulf through her work.
